January 15, 2011 was Valley All Stars Gold 4th year anniversary. It has been an amazing 4 years for all competitive squads in this small gym. Friendships have been made and walking into our new facility, you get a strong sense of a family-type bond. Both boys and girls enjoy being a part of much more than a true all-star squad -a family! They show heart for what they do at every single practice; working hard with great determination. In such a short period, Valley All Stars Gold has had many accomplishments. We are nationally ranked at Universal Cheerleaders Association National Competitions at all levels. Our Youth-level 1 squad was 2009 Cheerpower National Champions, 2010 UCA National Champions as well as World Spirit Association Champions. Our squads continued amazing crowds and were UCA Regional Champs in Juniors Coed-level 2, Varsity Limited Coed-level 4, and Senior Open-level 3. And if receiving these awards weren’t enough to show dedication and hard work, the gym’s Junior Coed and Varsity Limited Coed were Cheerpower Champions at Regional Competitions. Javier “Birdy” Recio loves this gym and all those who are associated with it. Being part owner and coach of Valley All Stars Gold, Birdy says, “Our squads are great. Everyone in the Minis, Youth, Juniors, and Varsity squads work so hard and I am so proud of them. I expect great things from them in the years to come.” Another part owner and coach is David Juarez, who is well known in the Cheerleading community. It has been said that he brought competitive cheer to the valley. When asked if this was true, he simply smiled. Also leading these young, talented cheerleaders and dancers to fabulous results are the rest of the gym’s staff members. They are Coaches: Romeo Lopez, Amancio Grimaldo, April Cuellar, Tomas Vasquez, Dina Farias, Office Director/Coach: Chris Briseno. All those mention have been dedicated to teaching technique, tumbling skills, dance moves, teamwork, sportsmanship and responsibility.
